MUIRTON MATTERS
My! What a dump, is what people say,
when they look at the place, as it stands today.
Untidy and broken, it looks like a dump,
is it any wonder that we've all got the hump.
Increase in crime, both night and day,
no-one can blame folk for moving away.
Redundant and forgotten, is what we all feel,
please help us recover, is our heartfelt appeal.
There must be a way we can improve our estate,
and save us our sanitites, before it's too late.
Once and for all, please hear our plea,
fix our estate and fill our hearts with glee.
Now our prayers are answered with much needed haste,
Muirton's to be transformed into a wonderful place.
Most of us know we will get a new home,
a house with a garden we can call our own.
And to wait a few years to get our new place,
will be done with patience, excitement and grace.
The work to be done will be hard and take tiime,
and plenty of money to make it just fine.
Those who are involved, have worked both day and night
to make sure the new Muirton will look just right.
Enter the tenants who are filled with joy,
to be given all this is like having a new toy.
Right now is the time for us to all start,
to show our thanks straight from the heart.
So thanks one and all, for all your hard graft,
to put the old Muirton, well and truly in the past. KATE DUNCAN
